- How do I change my email address and personal information?
- Your personal information can be changed at any time in your ResumeBear dashboard. If you change your email address, your login email address will also be changed. Keep in mind your existing resumes will not be updated and you will have to resend your resume with the updated contact information. ResumeBear recommends that you use an email address that is dedicated to your job search. For best results, this email address should sound professional, such as yourname@gmail.com. Please don’t use something like love2party@yahoo.com. Also, make sure the message on the voice mail for your contact phone number sounds professional and does not have loud background music. “Hey dudes, I’m here, stop by for a brew!” does not create a good impression for prospective employers.
- If I change my personal information, does it automatically update all of my saved resumes?
- No, your existing resumes will not be updated. You will have to resend your resume with the updated contact information. To avoid any confusion and miscommunication, please put some thought into the contact information you provide to prospective employers. Some job seekers create a professional email account at Gmail or Yahoo just for this purpose.

- You have two options for creating your resume with ResumeBear: the “Resume Builder Wizard”, which walks you through the steps of creating a resume, or the “Freestyle” method, which is perfect for copying and pasting an existing resume. With either method you’ll choose one of our templates as a backdrop for your resume. There are a wide variety of styles to choose from - pick an elaborate design or stay with corporate white.
- Does ResumeBear have spell check?
- Yes, spell check is one of the many tools that ResumeBear provides to job seekers, so your resume is always polished and professional.

Also, they will be able to always access your resume by the original email that you sent.
- Can I access my resume and statistics from my cell phone?
- Yes. If you have your SMS notification (text) set in your dashboard you will be alerted that the resume you sent to hr@somecompany.com is being read.

- Do the recipients that view my resume have knowledge that I am notified when they view my resume?

- How many resumes can I create?
- You can create as many resumes as you want. Each will have its own unique identifier that you assign when you create the resume. ResumeBear highly recommends that you create and tailor a resume for each specific job that you are applying for.
- What versions of Microsoft Word are compatible when using the ‘Freestyle’ method to create a resume?
- All versions of Microsoft Word are accepted. When you choose the option to create your resume from an existing document, you will copy and paste the text into our system, so the version you are using doesn’t matter.
- Does ResumeBear accept Mac versions of Word?
- Yes, when you choose the option to create your resume from an existing document you will copy and paste the text into our system.
- What if I get part way through creating a resume and have to stop? Can I save what I’ve done and come back later to finish it?
- Simply click on the button to “Save and continue”, or “Save and continue to my resumes”, at any point during resume creation. You’ll find the beginning resume in your dashboard under “My Resumes” and can click on the “Edit” icon to complete it.
- How long does it typically take to use the Resume Builder Wizard to create a new resume from scratch?
- Although the Resume Builder Wizard is extremely easy to use, the time will vary for each individual. Some people create a professional quality resume in just a few minutes, while others may need more time to compile and enter their information. A good resume is worth however long it takes.
- Can I preview my resume while creating it?
- You’ll find a preview of your resume, during creation, at the bottom of the page where you choose a template.
- How do I view my resume after I have created it?
- You’ll find a list of the resumes you have created in your ResumeBear dashboard under “My Resumes.” Simply click on “View” to see your resume.
- How do I delete one or all of my resumes?
- In “My Resumes” you have the option to view, style (choose a template), edit, send, or delete each resume.
- How do I modify my resume? Can I edit a particular section or add a new section to my saved resume?
- Yes, you are able to edit your resume from your dashboard at any time. However, once you have emailed your resume to a prospective employer you should not edit that resume. Instead, keep a copy of your resume in your dashboard that you can refer back to and make changes to as needed.
- How many entries can I make in the work history and education sections? Is it unlimited?
- Yes, it is unlimited, but keep in mind that you should limit your resume to one page of the most current and important achievements. Your resume and cover letter have one specific job - to get you an interview. Your resume should leave prospective employers wanting to know more so they feel compelled to call and set up an interview with you.
- Is there a way to get back to the beginning of a resume without hitting the back button on your browser?
- You will have the option to edit each section of your resume once it’s completed. So, if you choose not to hit the “back” button, you can save your edits for the end of the process where you will have the opportunity to make changes to any part of your resume.
- May I create my own templates with my own colors and graphics and save them in the “Create a Resume” feature?
- Currently you must choose one of our background designs. We are constantly updating and upgrading our system so you will see new designs and styles added. Feel free to send us your unique design and we just might use it. ResumeBear reserves the right to use any style or design that is submitted to us.
- Can I edit, change and save my own version of one of the included templates?
- The background templates are not able to be edited. You will have the option to edit the text and order of information that appears on your resume but you are unable to make any template design changes at this time.
- Can I change the color of the font, font size and background if I use the Resume Builder Wizard?
- You are able to change the color, font, and font size for all the text that you put in your resume.
- Can I edit or delete my resume after I have sent it out?
- Once your resume has been sent you must not edit or delete it. If you do, this will cause the employer to receive a general error message. Instead, before you email your resume make a copy of it in your dashboard so you can make necessary changes to your resume without interfering with the campaigns you have already sent.
- Am I able to save and re-use more than one version of my resume?
- Yes. Once you have saved your resume in the dashboard you have the ability to re-use it as many times as you want. However, we recommend that you take the time to tailor make every cover letter and resume specifically to the job and company that you are applying to.
- Should references be included in a resume?
- You can add “references provided upon request” at the bottom of your resume but there is no need to provide them on the initial contact with an employer.
- Can I send my resume to more than one person at a time?
- Although you can choose to send a resume to more than one recipient, we recommend that you send separate emails to each recipient so that the cover letter email can be personalized appropriately for each prospective employer.

Job seeker testimonials:
"Before ResumeBear, I previously sent out my cover letter and resume and HOPED someone opened it. With ResumeBear I KNEW someone read my resume which allowed me to become PRO-ACTIVE in my job search. I would call the contact ten minutes after they read my resume while it was still fresh in their mind."
John Einsohn, Texas
"I was looking for a job in Arizona from New England for two years without success. ResumeBear came through for me. The great tools you offer- tracking, instant text message notification along with the helpful guidance on how to build a more powerful resume, are astonishing. Due to ResumeBear I am enjoying life as planned in Arizona. Thank you ResumeBear!"
Judith Ellis, Arizona
"I just had to let you know that your system in landing a job is absolutely astounding! Not only did my resume stand out with the powerful template and my photo on it, but I was able to track the resume views in real time. I submitted my resume to three companies for a sales management position and got an email and text message on my cell phone as soon as someone was looking at my resume. This is fantastic. I didn't even know this service was available. I would recommend ResumeBear to anyone. I landed my sales management position thanks to ResumeBear."
Chris Anderson, Colorado
"ResumeBear is amazing. Because of your notification system I was able to contact the hiring manager while the iron was hot. I called the person right away and was able to schedule an interview. I never had this much control of my career search. I will never look for a job again without ResumeBear."
Adi Cohen, NYC
HR testimonials:
"I literally have thousands of resumes to review at any time. I previously had to print out each resume which was costly and inefficient. I highly recommend ResumeBear to anyone. I am able to store these resumes electronically and each one has a crisp, clean look. That's important because I don't want to pass on a messy, incoherent resume to the hiring authority. The other powerful benefit of ResumeBear is that the cover letter and resume come directly to my mailbox without attachments. In today's world with security threats associated with attachments- this could be the difference of looking at your resume or not."
Norman F, NYC - HR Telecommunications industry
"Today's reality is job seekers are using the Internet and email to seek a career change. When done correctly, email is a perfect solution. Unfortunately, there are problems with emailed cover letters and resumes. The formatting does not always get delivered as intended which causes the HR department to try to find the relevant information. Many times we get hundreds of resumes for every open position. Often we will skip over the poorly delivered resumes to move on to one that is easier to comprehend. ResumeBear takes care of all the formatting issues. We have noticed a consistency with ResumeBear that actually makes our job easier."
Tina K, Tacoma - HR Food industry
